Hi,

Thank you the information, which does make sense.

But, when I load Gold.bin (SMSQ/E v3.36) on a SuperGold Card, JS Rom, the boot process goes into a boot loop, unless I use an IF statement to test for SMSQ/E.

How do I load SMSQ/E without an IF statement?

Does the QL ROM have a bearing on this?

That seems logical to me. SMSQ/E will reset the machine and LRUN the BOOT again.
So testing for "HBA" is the best way out of the loop.

Hi,

That is what I always done on the Q60 and SuperGold Card. Which works well.

But the experts tell me there is some sort of special header that SMSQ/E will recognise and not install if already present. Upto now I have never got this method to work.

So back to testing VER$....

Seems, GOLD_BIN (or whatever it is called) has to have a dataspace of 4 and the version number in its xtra info.
