Sorry Prof, it's simply a rom switcher.

Is that connected to the ROM port or is it internal?

Hi
This is a system ROM Switcher, which you can switch between JS AH, JM, Minerva ROMs. Not application ROMS that would occupy the 16 x 16Kb slots at $C0000
With regards to the Q68 see manual page: Chapter 3 Software: Q68 ROM Loader.
The Q68 96K of ROM space, maybe free when SMSQ/E is loaded, from QLWA container and starts at $32000, or when the Q68 loads from Q68_RAM.SYS loads to $30000.
A ln operating system like Minerva4Q68 has the loader file called Q68_ROM.SYS loaded to $0, with $C000 available to load QL ROM image that would be loaded in the QL ROM Port 16Kb in size
Please the Q68 manual.
Please do not stop your project any development is worth while.

If only the ICL OPD Xchange ROM's could be made usable on the QL...
I have no information on the format these are held in, apart from some brief notes, but they are written for use with a totally different OS and so little hope of using them with QDOS or SMSQ/E

Not directly related, but an EPROM emulator...pretty cool. Surprised you don't see these on sale:

The pre-built Q68 Minerva images contain the Minerva operating system, a PS/2 keyboard driver for US, UK and DE layouts, and a SDHC card driver. Which makes them longer than 48 KB. While a 48 KB version is theoretically possible, it would make little sense without mass storage.

Hi,
The OPD runs the Psion Suite from ROM. Xchange occupies 5 x 32k Roms but includes some of the O/s. The OPD calculator is there somewhere. I don't know how different the OPD versions are or how they are distributed around the ROMs. I've never tried to take out individual ROMS to see what happens. BUT at least it's a start.

I've been trawling through QL USer and World.
This is the last mention of the ROM package by Searle I could find. It would have been the QL version of Psion Exchange using a cartridge on the expansion slot (on page 5).

If 1 expansion card has multiple connections to it, do you count the card or each printer, floppy, etc connected to it?
