Oh, I had missed your earlier comment on mic level...I have had the same issue with audio levels. I guess the more professional quality sound on videos has the speaker use clip-on mic's which I don't want to do. I ended up using HandBreak which is free software that lets you muck with a video, including upping the gain. So most of mine are upped by a gain of 12. Works most of the time though sometimes it adds noise. There is a nice online converter that also adds gain, and I feel it does it more cleanly, but it only works with smaller (100's of MB) videos. To be honest, I haven't explored a better solution than HandBreak but there likely is.

I have a US model and it still has those awful connectors for microdrives...

The only one I've ever seen with the later type proper plug was an ISSUE US6 (in a German model despite the 'US'). It had a serial number around 9000 and a date sticker marked Jan 1986, so very late.

I agree...they are so educational and very well filmed and nicely edited. I just finished a second and a couple of times I'm off camera because I'm trying to get something to work...ugh...not easy to do it as well as Noel :-/

Another...cough...masterpiece. I try and record one a week and most go pretty quickly which makes it easy to post regularly.

We've reached the halfway mark of #QLvember. If you want to join in, it's not too late, you still have half a month to go. Videos can be of any length and if you just want to demo something without speaking, that's fine too. If you have a video, share it to YouTube (quick and easy to put a free account up) and then put the hashtag in the video (I recommend in the title as it is a bit more prominent).
I've already seen a couple of posts of "I saw #QLVember so I thought I'd do this for the QL..." and that's the whole purpose. Happy to see more people join in.

I have to come clean about something here: I only rarely watch videos online as Im on a metered, mobile internet account. So I only occasionally sample the odd video, mainly news.
That doesnt mean that my praise above was uncritical based on too small a sample, nor that my lack of praise for your, bwinkel67, efforts is due to me not enjoying them

I just dont have the bandwidth to watch them.
Keep up the good work! From other reports here, it seems to have done some good.

Hi Folks,
I've been off-forum for a couple of moons. Hell goes off here! Love it! But almost impossible to catch-up.
I launched two videos earlier this month in my "Sinclair QL Design and Production Review" series. See

Mike was getting in touch with me via the Forum, but I missed it first-hand. I've added the #QLvember to my Nov 2020 videos. Most likely I will drop another video this weekend. Stay tuned.
Cheers & stay healthy,
Urs
