Is your QIMSI Gold from the second batch?
I assume yes, as I just got it today!
In that case I might have caused the problem by removing the external pullup resistor for the PS/2 dara line, which was present in the first batch.
It could be that the FPGA-internal pullup is too weak for the RS250.
ok, this could explain why this mouse, described as working, isn't with my board. I muss say that this is why puzzled me.
Removing it was needed to make the hardware capable to support actual USB mice, i.e. to allow future FPGA update for USB.
I have an FPGA version with USB support already, but did not want to create a mess, as there is no USB driver for keyboard.
Pure USB mice can not work with the current FPGA! Only PS/2 and combo mice.
Yes, this is clear. Can good be that all other mices I have are only USB compatibles.
Do you need PS/2 keyboard? If not, we could think about an FPGA update with actual USB supp
no, I don't want to use an external keyboard at all, so for me it would be perfect!
but is a USB blaser required to flash the PFGA?

See manual "Updating the hardware logic"

ok, understood. EW WIN1_proglogic is the command to use with the bitstream file named "update_bit" in the data path. I found it in WIN1_

Can I try to update with your new bitstream?

Yes, but I don't plan to maintain two different variants of QIMSI Gold.
So if I implement a new feature, you might need to return to PS/2 for that.
And please make sure you have read about the risks of an FPGA update.

Ok, all clear.
Yes, I know the risk, that I can brick the board if the flash goes wrong. If it happens, a flash from the computer is needed. Thanks!

You might also want to read this: viewtopic.php?p=58480#p58480

And if you don't want to go USB, you could manually add the external 1.5K pullup.
You'd need to solder a 0805 SMT resistor below the right-hand microUSB connector.

thanks!
Got the file, but I have somme difficulties to bring it correctly into the .WIN container.
What I did:
fire up Q-emulator on my Mac
mount QLWA.WIN as WIN1
mount the .zip file containing the update as WIN2
type "copy win2_update_bit to win1_update_bit

put the SD card in the QIMSI Gold
type EW win1_proglogic

proglogic tell me "error opening bistream file"

is this the correct procedure?

Have you checked if the file is actually there and has the right size? WSTAT?
As I often said, the easiest way to copy files into an QLWA container is Wolfgang's QxlwinReader. No need for an emulator.

That's not QXLWinReader you're looking at, apparently.

QXLWinReader is here

Needs Java and will basically run on everything.
