Thanks Derek. I hadn't realised MSDOS was freely available nowadays.
I just googled it, and MSDOS 6.22 is available to download from places like Archive.org, very useful for anyone who'd like to make use of an old PC with a QXL.

Thanks BSJR and everyone for the hints and tips.
I have found an old Pentium at the office with two ISA slots. All I need to do is take the SSDs out and get my own SSD.
It is a bulky machine, but at least I should be able to see if the QXL is still alive.

Actually, I'd recommend a multitasking-capable (and, maybe even network- and file sharing-capable Host-OS like Windows 9x or OS/2 Warp rather than plain DOS. The QXL software runs fine with both.

Makes file exchange with the modern world, and above all, injection of files into the QXL.WIN image a lot easier. With plain DOS, the only way to do that is using floppy disks. Note SMSQ/E on the QXL has no way to access the host file system.
