Re: ZX Spectrum Next speaks QL
There's a last minute QLAN mod being finished. One of our members is on with it. So am guessing they want this in before release.
I'd be happy to have it without for now, then install a second release.

I fail to find any information on the alleged 68030 processor running at 56MHz. There seems no public statement at all.
Is there a person who is responsible for this announcement, and who can be asked?

It is TG68K and not @56Mhz, I think they said it runs as a 56Mhz, I know don't ask me how.

The quote in the first post went to Kickstarter backers only. I think we simply need to wait for the release.Peter wrote: Sun Nov 24, 2024 8:59 am I fail to find any information on the alleged 68030 processor running at 56MHz. There seems no public statement at all.

Just read in facebook the following from the author of the core:
"we are prepping it for release with instructions and it will be coming Friday with software to get you started as part of the Next distribution"

Re: ZX Spectrum Next speaks QL
I do wish they'd stop using Facebook and used their own website for announcements. Or at least cross-post. Not even news of a QL core for my Next is going to entice me over to Zuck's site.
It does make the Spectrum Next scene look stale when the main hub is not updated since August despite tons of activity.
Iroinically, I'm now getting most of my Next news via the Next print magazine! Ah, rocking it like it's 1982 all over again

Okay, so nothing interesting technology-wise.lliont wrote: Sun Nov 24, 2024 2:24 pm It is TG68K and not @56Mhz, I think they said it runs as a 56Mhz, I know don't ask me how.
With SRAM as main memory, not even 40 MHz are needed to get a TG68K.C core to 56 MHz 68030 speed.

Interesting to see Simon Goodwin there. Was not aware he was helping that much with the Spectrum Next. Maybe they needed a QL expert.
