The item that doesn't work in this "add object" case is LIST_SELECT.
The trick I used, is to choose "add folder" and change that to "object'" in the QDT menu itself.
I worked that I could do that also - but it does not create the same sort of object - eg. a link to an executable program.

Is there anyway of launching a SuperBASIC program from QDT?

I would say create an object to execute the basic programme with SBASIC (SMSQ/E) or MultiBasic (Minerva) other QDOS version do not use multibasic, unless you use Simon Goodwin's Multibasic extensions.

Even QL/E loads Menu_rext v8.02 by default, one can easy change it to use Menu_rext v7.04 which is also included.

All one has to do is DELETE or REMark line 11280 in the BOOT program and make sure line 11282 looks like this:

Code: Select all

11282 IF QLE_language$="GE" : LRESPR MENU_REXT_704_GE : ELSE LRESPR MENU_REXT_704_EN : REMark Menu Extension v7.04, Scrap Extension V1.13 1997 by J-M-S, C) Included in QL/E with permission given by Jochen on 2014-11-15
I have put the issue on my task list for future versions of QL/E.

QL forever!

No - Jim Hunkins has not yet released it - as I am taking a back seat maybe someone else would be better discussing it with him

Sorry to be negative, why not do as I did and buy the full version.

I think Jim is not looking at QDT anymore, I wanted the source code released either privately or under GPL. I doubt this will never happen.

How about using ProWesS it is free and source code available... or maybe a new QL front end system

Oh, I always thought, that the free Version of QDT is the same as the bought Version? Where are the differences?

I know there is no difference between the full version and the freeware
