No time for a decent description at the moment, but so you get an idea of the QLbase mainboard:

QLbase always needs to be accompanied by a Q68 or Qzero.

The QLbase board has been finished and tested a long while ago, is is just not produced in series yet. And not well documented.
Cool!

This is excellent news (I thought it was still a work in progress). This new motherboard will perpetuate the life of our BBQL for many years.

The question will be, if people really want such a modernized beast with SD-cards instead of microdrives, and no QL extension bus.
Also, it is a modular system, which increases flexibility but makes it

- more expensive than a single board solution
- more complex to understand
- more time consuming to build
- more difficult in terms of logistics

Hi Peter,

I understand all these points, but still Qzero and QLbase looks excellent.

I do not use Microdrives on any QL have, I like the QLSD you designed, another brilliant QL enhancement.

I wish give you a vote of thanks for all the hard work to design excellent hardware gor the QL.

By the way, the term "mainboard" I used above for QLbase is not well chosen, as main CPU and RAM are located on the Qzero (or Q68).
There is a microcontroller on QLbase also, but just as coprocessor for the keyboard.
