Hi Jose,
There is a way to transfer files, if you know a friend with a QL with floppy drives. Just connect via the QLnet and copy from floppy to your drive. Getting the files to a floppy with Q.emu is quite easy and common.

That does of course work - however, you ideally both need toolkit II so you can set up one machine as a fileserver !

The problem is finding someone else who has a disk drive so this is not a mass market solution....

Totaly agree with you.

There isn't a problem the TK2 extension. One of my test, I changed original JM rom with a 512K Eprom with minerva 1.98 + TK2 extension. I only had to change qubide eprom default direction.

But the scenario with two ql is complex for the idea of have a simple mass solution

Currently both QPC2 and q-emulator can handle qxl.win files.
There is a tool for the QL to read data from within a qxl.win file (eg. on a CD-ROM) - alas that tool supposedly only works under smsq/e so you need a Gold Card / Super Gold Card to run it....

If only we could get hold of a copy of the old Di-Ren QL-PC Fileserver software to update it.

If the QubIDE schematic could be combined with a floppy interface schematic, this board would make a lot more sense. Using newer SMD components, it could also reduce power draw a LOT. Further, replacing the 7805 with a better regulation circuit would help too.

I am willing and able to do a run of these if they come to exist.

My QL has already a QubIDE clone.

Jose_leandro has produced the first batch, this is mine:

: QubIDE clone - eprom minerva+tk2

The kit is supplied with 512 KB RAM, eprom minerva+tk2 (optional) and software to transfer files from the PC (programmed by Habi).

The clone works fantastically, it is very stable and reliable. (Also it works fine with QL-SD).
