Well in this project, the VHDL source contains more than 90% of the hardware description, the rest relatively simple.
It is perfectly okay to keep it closed, but I would not call that "open hardware".
You are right Peter (of course).
In any case, since the VHDL compiled code is public (available) & free to use... for me that is fine if he want to keep it closed.
Just I want a small board and let it for community to use freely.

but the gerber files and CPLD file is freely available for download, I am going make some new 8301 boards for the QL boards I have been repairing, so I download the files and get the PCB made and programme the CPLD.

Hello Leon.
Sorry about the delay in replying.
I did send you a private message via this forum but may be the forum is not working the way I thought.
The flashing green was indeed caused by intermittent contact with some pins, caused by the heat sink being pressed by the back of the keyboard plate. I will look for a lower profile heatsink. The getting hot part is, as some have said, not really a problem and seems to work fine for hours. I just thought that if there is a configuration that would reduce the heat intensity, that would be great. No problem if it is the normal operating status.
Thank you once again for releasing this wonderful project, Leon!
