Thank you all for thinking with me ,
Unfortunately ,
etsy still gives a € 35,- "bonus" shipping and taxes
as the parts come from NZ .
so no benefits there .
looking for alternatives now .

Our customs have a different view on costs ......................unfortunatley .
customs handling and storage costs , customs fees , postal handling fixed fee of € 17,50 and on top of that 21% taxes !!
roughly the price will be doubled , all eu regulations !! to protect the local markets from foreign trading imports ??!!

Why not building the Oqtadrive? If you are hunting for a Microdrive emulator?
https://oqtadrive.org/
All parts should be available without "customs trouble" within the EU
Or, go for an alternative mass storage device which is build within the EU?

You will find that SellMyRetro collect the VAT for you if the total order is less than €150 - there is a handling fee, but just £4 to cover the paypal fees on the VAT collected.
There should be no customs fees on items less than €150

Rich ,
do you have the ioss number to share ?
Our customs does NOT rely on the digital documents , i need to declare my purchase upfront .
As otherwise you will get a fine for illegal importation of goods ( this resulting in delays and then they will use their storage "policy" ) .

Yes - we have an IOSS number but do not publicise it.
If you have ordered it via SellMyRetro - it will appear on the bottom of the invoice - send me a copy of the invoice via the admin at sellmyretro.com email if you cannot see it

That is also a great option. I love it.
That was my first device that I tried out.
vDrive looks greater than it, but... cost also is higher than oqtadrive.
Balance... functionality vs price.
Another option is the MicroPicoDrive from Dr. Gusman. Also free to build up by everyone.
The only one that I didn't try yet is vDrive, but I hope one day will be able to get one... and QIMSI amazing one too.

To get an overview of the available solutions for Microdrive emulation (for QL & Spectrum), this
feature comparison may be of help.
