I have the same problem with my Samsung Ql. The first microdrive spins. But with trump card inserted it boots from floppy and the problem "solved"
by this way

this is a sinclair ql , first microdrive starts spinning at power-up , followed by the second one a few moments later.

i will swap one md this weekend to see how that one behaves.
