I thought there would be something hidden in the manual about this....
I don't think the implementation is necessarily wrong - the idea behind Q-Liberator was to provide a compiler which was as compatible as possible with the original QL ROM - therefore they did not correct bugs in the language, but replicated them where possible.
Has anyone tried this program under TURBO ?

I believe you. That's interesting - I'll just have to wait until I can get QPC2.
