Thanks for the welcome, and replies.
Regarding the QL, I got it in the 80s and used it for our business. (We have a small farm.) When Microsoft Windows etc came about, I decided to put my Sinclair back in it's box and store it. I just decided to retrieve it when we put the Xmas decorations away this year, and thought someone might like to have it, rather than hang on in case it gets damaged or I'm too old to sell it!
I can't remember where I got it from, so you can say it's had one previous owner (myself!).
I'm glad I caused some excitement though!!

Did the QL get used for accounts and letters etc? How long did you use it as a business machine? :)

Yes,I used it for all the business. I did our accounts, letters etc, etc. As far as I remember I used all the different programmes. I had an old matrix dot printer, long since gone. The chap who has bought it will no doubt still have all my files on the microdrives! I have told him this, though. At the time I found it to be an efficient machine.

Welcome to the forum.
Everything I put on the ebay listing was absolutely true and accurate, and I would have been happy to receive a 'normal' price for it. As it happened there was someone out there ( in fact 2 bidders) who were very keen on it, and neither I-nor any of my family or friends- had any part whatsoever in the price that it was actually sold for. I really can't be doing with dishonesty, and wouldn't dream of getting involved with anything like that.
That's fair enough sometimes I guess you do get two bidders who get into a bidding war for an Item and then the seller gets lucky. Best part of the deal is that both parties seem to have come away from this sale getting what they thought was a good deal....everybody wins.

With your permission I'll copy and paste your text above to the Acorn forum where I also posted about the auction, just to set the record straight there too. There is a log running thread there about overpriced (silly initial price), or auctions that go to a higher than normal price (like this one), the thread is titled LOLPRICE :)

Cheers.

Phill.

That's ok, Phil. It will be good for folks to see that there are honest people about!
