Odd QL start up problems

Post by RWAP »

I have never seen a screen like this on a QL....

This is a user in Italy who is having problems - any suggestions as to what might be the problem?

I guess it may be a ram problem....

"Working halfway" maybe describes it best :D

Never seen anything like that before. I'd be looking at address line a6 - the green area apparently starts every 64 bytes (assuming it's exactly half the screen)

Also keep in mind that one of the 74LS257 chips could be faulty.

“There are four lights!”
Step up to red alert. Sir, are you absolutely sure? It does mean changing the bulb :!:
Looking forward to summer in Somerset later in the year :)

Indeed, had that problem recently.

Also check for bent legs not going into sockets, had that problem with my Samsung QL last night.....

Cheers.
