Wow - that's impressive!
If you decide to produce a batch, I'll want one!

Hi lliont, It has been great to see how your "FPGA replacment for the ZX8301 ULA and more" project has evolved up to this final point. Now everything is perfectly integrated into a single board, very easy to install.

(By the way, one question: Is QLion compatible with SMSQe?)

If at some point a batch is produced, I would also like to have a nice QLion board.

Hi,

Does the new board have access to the other QL hardware, like Microdrive, QL NET?

Hi lliont,

If you were to ever offer some for sale ready built I’d be interested in one please

Assembling one would be well beyond my ability!

Many thanks
Tony

Does the original system need to have its 68008 in socket? I'm guessing the ZX8301 is not needed. What about the ROM chips? I'm asking abecause I'm putting together a second QL that has no chips and wanted to know what I'd need along with a QLion board if I went that route.

This one NEEDS the zx8301, it doesn't care if CPU, ROM, RAM are on board or not.
If you want to also replace zx8301 then you need the "FPGA replacement of ULA" board, it has the same features.

Oh, I see, so you have:
  • QLion - like a modern Gold Card with modern accessories and video enhancements
  • CPLD ZX8301 - just the ZX8301 replacement
  • FPGA replacment - so this is QLion + CPLD ZX8301 in one card? Does it plug into chip or into side?
Sir, you have become a very busy person. Thank you for working on all of these devices! You and Peter keep creating magic for the QL.
