Announcing the new "Gold Card" - QIMSI Gold
Re: Announcing the new "Gold Card" - QIMSI Gold
I'm interested for a QIMSI regular or Gold card. What is availability of them? If I get Gold card do I need to use HDMI or is SCART just fine?
Re: Announcing the new "Gold Card" - QIMSI Gold
Standard QIMSI are no longer made. But QIMSI Gold can always be used as standard QIMSI also.
The video output depends on your intended usage. Accellerated CPU -> Highspeed digital. 68008 -> SCART

OK, thanks for the clarification. The price is still €75 without a clock and €95 with a clock, right?
I have a Sandy QL 256KB RAM expansion. I assume it would work just fine with QIMSI? It is attached to the side expansion port.

Could you put me to waiting list also. Thanks! I'll PM you details.

you are in the waiting list now. Thanks for your PM.
I recommend to read the user manual which is attached to the first post of this threat. It will answer a lot of your questions.

Stephan, thanks for the picture of the panel. Looks good!
Before questions come up about the slightly different look of the boards, let me explain the small changes to the first batch:

Before questions come up about the slightly different look of the boards, let me explain the small changes to the first batch:
- Capacitor footprints for the video output changed to ease manufacturing. (Originally I tried to use capacitor arrays. Those needed to be replaced with single capacitors, which was difficult to solder in the same footprint.)
- Retainers for microUSB connectors soldered to a copper plane to increase mechanical stability.
- External pullup resistor for PS/2 data line removed. This is to allow for real USB support by an FPGA logic update at a later time, without having to the modify the external hardware. (There still is an FPGA internal pullup.)
- Option for an external loudspeaker by two extra connections near the serial port. This is not an official feature and requires additional soldering, but may be documented for tinkerers at a later time.

Same here. Must be quite a waiting list. Look forward to eventually getting the QIMSI Gold.furellax wrote: Wed Sep 11, 2024 5:04 am Checked my email, no message so far. Maybe for the next batch ...![]()
