Hi, New member of the forum. My name is Randy Kindig. I host the Floppy Days Podcast (floppydays.com) on vintage computing and am coming up on 11 years in Feb. I also co-host the ANTIC Podcast about Atari 8-bit computers.
On Floppy Days I cover the computers in the order they were released. I'm currently in the year 1982, so it will be a bit before I get to covering the QL.
I never thought I would own a Sinclair QL (I have 2 ZX Spectrums, a TS1000, TS1500, TS2068, and a ZX81) but was able to acquire one recently. It needs a new keyboard mylar, which I got but haven't installed.
I'm really looking for modern upgrades for the machine, like an SD-based disk emulator, RGB-to-HDMI solution, additional RAM, and modern replacement power supply. Any suggestions are appreciated!

Hi Randy, welcome to the forum.
I'm a new QL user myself, I can recommend QIMSI plus a memory expansion. If you like to emulate the Microdrives you have vDrive and micro Pico drive.

Hello Randy,
Happy New Year & welcome to the forum!
A third option for Microdrive emulation on the QL would be OqtaDrive, which would also work with your Spectrums.
Happy QL-Hacking!

I have listened to quite few of the Floppy Days Podcast.
The Podcasts are really good.
