Re: ZX Spectrum Next Kickstarter 2 just launched

Over the £2m mark and they've said they'll honour all the stretch goals now, even the ones at 2.5 and 3.0. Just over 2 days before it ends.

Anyway, they've hinted that this is the last production run, so if you want one...

Re: New Spectrum + QL

the Next's Symbol-Shift key and the numeric keys to more readily generate the FN keys - which I'll test this weekend.

Would you mind reporting back here with how that is done once you have it working? I presume it's via an ini file of some sort? If so, could you show the syntax needed please ...

Re: QL Planeframe

Interesting - have you managed to get it running? If so, any chance of a screenshot or two? Bristol has had a large aerospace industry since the 1960s (maybe earlier?) so I wonder whether it was used in that context.

Re: ZX Spectrum Next Kickstarter 2 just launched

KS3 is coming in June, for anyone who missed out on KS2:

Also there are details about a new fully licensed C64 core and a mention that an update to the QL core is imminent.

Re: Retrofest UK 2025. May 31st / June 1st

It was a fun event - I went with my youngest daughter who has just finished her Computer Science degree at Southampton Uni. I wanted to see her reaction to the old tech. Amusingly, she was most taken by Adventure on a VAX (I think it was a VAX?). She also played PacMan for the first time in her life ...

Re: FREE Gateway PC in *terrible* condition.

Yeah, I did wonder if anyone would want it for that. Also PCs of that era are very popular with the retro gaming crowd and fetch silly prices on eBay (when in good condition). I thought maybe somebody would want it who could do the required clean up/repairs and get Win9x on it for gaming - which ...

Re: FREE Gateway PC in *terrible* condition.

Remarkably, somebody wanted it (not from this forum, you lot have more sense :D). It's gone now.

In the meantime, I've managed to extract the data from one of the hard drives but the second is proving more tricksy.
