Flyby11

Three of my four PCs had failed the Micro$oft PC Health Check app for upgrading from Windows 10 to 11. So they were destined to be retired in about 150 days when paid support is the only way to keep them going for any length of time. Or, worse, install Linux <Dilwyn quakes in fear>

Computeractive ...

Re: 3 Graphics Cards

Do you know the amaount of memory on the cards? There are so much different ones around.

No, sorry. Might be possible to work out from the pictures if you know enough about the chips.
If anyone knows how to check, I'm happy to examine the boards if the pictures aren't clear enough.
No ...

3 Graphics Cards

Before I send these to recycling, I have three PC graphics cards to give away and find a new home for. Free of charge, cost of postage only.

The three were in a "junk box" I inherited from a deceased relative. I have no idea if they work or not and don't know much about their spec other than the ...

Re: BatmanQL - Joan Gayon (2025)

It's not intended to run on SMSQ/E, just QDOS. Original target was running on sotck 128k QL, but memory requirements for code+graphics turned that impossible. It does not even fit in a microdrive image....

I appreciate that. I only tried to reply since Ralf asked about it on QPC. It seems to ...

Re: BatmanQL - Joan Gayon (2025)

The PEEKs and POKEs in the boot program are a bit of a hinderance.
The program is CALLed, not an executable.

When you first try it with unmodified boot with QPC2 set to 512x256 in QL colour mode, it stops with "At line 50:1 insufficient memory." It has tried to read the top of RAM from system ...

Re: BatmanQL - Joan Gayon (2025)

Great stuff. I love the graphics.

Trying to download it in Micro$oft Edge, it gives a bit of a hissy fit with the following message because of the .doc extension:

batman_vs_edge.jpg

To avoid this, just right click on the link and Save Link As
Depending on how Edge is configured, you may also ...

What is the best food to eat from a Barbeque to use with a QL?
Anything burnt until it's black!

I actually once had a QL that barbequeued itself.... (didn't dare to taste it, though)
Probably a "cruelty to QLs" prosecutable offence for letting it do that to itself...

Re: Hello from Spain

Welcome! I have both an original QIMSI and a QIMSI Gold (not on the same QL obviously!). Great devices . The micro-SDHC cards are so convenient for storage and transfer to other systems.

Re: Q_Liberator malaise

The old keywords are switched off by default in FI2 but if a program expects the old ones they can be switched on again. I find it strange why the existing keywords always have to be changed just because someone had another idea for SMSQ/E.

I suppose that Sbasic has so many keywords, it's bound ...
