With the blue screen, it looks fuzzy around the edges, so its almost like it tries to dusplay a picture.
I have removed each of the chips in turn, then powered on. Removing the ULA, rom chips and micro processor have an effect on the picture.

Re: New QL user & owner
Yes I have removed all chips, cleaned the board and each chip with IPA and reseated; still getting the same problem. I'm wondering if its the ULA next to the 68000 chip, as Ive read this is responsible for video signals for RGB.

Re: New QL user & owner
Hi all,
The scart cable finally arrived today! However, plugging it all in, I either get a blue screen, or rarely a black garbled screen.
Also, if I press down gently on the microprocessor chip, I get a continuous single tone beep from the speaker. Any ideas?

Re: New QL user & owner
Hi all,
I have been emailing Vitaliy with regards to the tetroid interfaces. In particular I'm looking at the TDI interface, as this looks like a plug and play device (slots into the expansion port of the QL), so I would be able to preserve the originality of the QLs ROM, whilst allowing me to ...

Re: New QL user & owner
After all your comments perhaps this is best left as it is after all, provided it works as it should (some parts naturally may need replacing).
Hopefully the RGB cable will arrive today so I can test, I will update everyone in due course with how it goes.

Re: New QL user & owner
The pink wires are for the speaker, just to save any confusion. I can only identify x1 blue wire underneath.
Could anyone advise on any multimeter/oscillioscope tests to carry out first? (I'm a dab hand with spectrums and commodore amigas but not QLs!)

Re: New QL user & owner
Without knowing what works and what doesnt work (until I've had the RGB cable delivered and done some basic checks) I won't know whats/whats not working, and take it from there. I don't have an EPROM reader unfortunately, I will however leave everything as it is. It has date code 8350.

Re: New QL user & owner
Yes I found this on ebay, along with some other miscellaneous spectrum items.
Did the majority of software require additional RAM? Or were they all designed to run with the original 128k?
Looking at the board, there is a jumper wire running underneath from one end to the other, but looks ...

Re: New QL user & owner
Thank you all for the advice; I have attached some extra photos of the case as requested.
For some reason, none of the led lights are present, neither is the wiring, but the socket is on the motherboard where these plug into.
Also, there was a screw missing on the case, and the membrane was ...

Re: New QL user & owner
Thank you all for your kind comments.
I am looking at purchasing the Vdrive QL from Vretro (I've no idea if the microdrives work anyway), I have been looking at a raspberry Pi installed but to get all the components etc seems a faff (and will probably cost about the same as the Vdrive anyway). Also ...
