Re: 68K/OS "ROM" based disk attempt
But could be more usefully reemployed so even QIMSI could provide host QL OS ?ones' complement wrote: Thu Jun 06, 2024 10:46 pmI suppose it's not impossible to do a mod to that effect now but I guess QIMSI has bagged that pin now![]()
(I would think ROMOEH mod would be no more messy than beeper mod. ZX style via 680 ohm?).

Re: 68K/OS "ROM" based disk attempt
It's a pity they couldn't have employed the unused ROM port pin, we could have had 16K ($C000-FFFF) / 64K ($0000-FFFF) option. With true ZX8301 ROMOEH output wired to ROM port and internal ROMs ROMOEH conditioned by spare pin: grounded for 64K, open for 16K.

Re: 68K/OS "ROM" based disk attempt
If only ROMOEH had been like ZX ROMCS and could be usurped. Need to remove internal ROMs to put 64K on ROM port.

Re: ATARI ST SMSQ/E
Just tried SMSQE.PRG on real Atari ST, same result: v1.04 crash, v1.02 OK
Both UK and US versions of v1.04 fail running SMSQE.PRG on Hatari.

Update:
So I've tried various v1.04 AUTO patch programs (including SELECTRIC) and failed to get it working from the 'Rainbow' TOS. At least it works ...

Re: ATARI ST SMSQ/E
Ah thanks, that has narrowed it down. TOS 2.06 works OK, but not 1.04
Edit: But just tried 1.02 and that is also OK
Guess SMSQE doesn't like rainbows

Re: ATARI ST SMSQ/E
Has anyone got SMSQE.PRG working with Hatari v2.3.1 ? All I get is a crash and double bus/address error report. (SMSQE v3.31 and later versions).

Re: Connecting a uC (PIC) to the QL
Surprised the QL still worked with address lines extended 50cm even without PIC connected, I would have at least used buffers.
BTW I bought these DIN41612 female R/A connectors a while ago and they were OK:

If your PAL is the RAM version it could do with being copied, over the years a few people have wanted this for 0K boards.
