Is there a circuit diagram anywhere to help me?I'm pretty good at soldering but need a design to work to.
If no one has answered your question and if you have not found a source already: There are all kinds of circuit diagrams on Dilwyn Jones' website in the QL hardware documentation section [1 ...

...it may be, if it is self-referential and if you send it by email (https://xkcd.com/2483/) using IETF RFC 1149 (https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc1149), but then it may be limited to pigeons.Derek_Stewart wrote:Not sure if the queue is a linked list...

expensive QL case
There is an interesting item on ebay, called “Sinclair QL + Sinclair Spectrum Case” (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/274874955842). The photo suggests that multitasking is limited to four tasks, and the item seems to be “green tech”. But as a QL case, shouldn't it be black?

Re: vintage keyboard interface
Interesting circuit - looks like the 8049 in the picture is just the normal IPC - so replacing this with a Hermes chip would presumably be possible.
I agree. The circuit only makes sense re-using (see post #40171) the QL's IC24 (8049, see post #40433), thus using a Hermes 8749 should be possible ...

Re: vintage keyboard interface
BTW, George where did you get info from ? (I did it the hard way and concur with description), there is no link from footnote [1]
Hello Silvester,
footnote 1 referred to the photos at ebay (item #154371862956).
It's all guessing: As IC24 (8049) of a QL reads the "bus" and pulls only one line of ...

Re: vintage keyboard interface
Thank you very much.
I agree that a SuperHermes may be a far better replacement for a Schön PC keyboard interface, I did not understand how to use a Schön interface with a SuperHermes, and I still wonder why a product called "Schön" looks so "unschön".

vintage keyboard interface
Hello everyone,
has anyone seen this kind of QL keyboard interface before?
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/154371862956
It may have been used not only to connect a serial ( six pin DIN) keyboard, but also to destroy Rick Dickinson's balanced industrial machine design – but looking at the pictures [1 ...

Re: Wafer but no ice cream
Wow. Quite a find. Thanks for sharing.
No, it definitely is not.
Apart from the fact that it is not a QL wafer memory unit [1], but a (btw: damaged) Anamartic solid state disk [2], this item has already been "sold" quite a few times since December, 2020 (ebay item numbers 383846497212 ...

A view years ago, Silvester mentioned that a ZX8302 draws 52µA on pin 40 at 3.9 Volts: https://www.theqlforum.com/viewtopic.php ... 52uA#p7857Pr0f wrote:Does anyone know what the current consumption is of the seconds counter clock (RTC) that's in the Zx8302 ?
