Re: Video: Sinclair QL Upgrades (PSU and vDrive mostly)
The schematics show a small 8 ohm speaker, attached to PB4 and PB1. No capacitor required.
As I mentioned earlier, I can't hear the noise as I don't have a working speaker. I did have a small 4 ohm, but it's awfully quiet.
PS. I'm enjoying your videos -- even the Amstrad ones! ;)
Haha! Thanks ...

Re: 198? - A cyberpunk ACT text adventure Release thread & Download!
The 2nd part of line 20 (i.e. 20;2) is the long text.
It's tripping up on that before it gets to the next part, which will attempt to load from mdv3_ (and fail).
Tried it on Minerva just now and it works with the images set to mdv3_ and mdv4_.
Edit: It's down to the screen size, you have to ...

Re: 198? - A cyberpunk ACT text adventure Release thread & Download!
Which image file was it? The custom mdv one or the floppy img in the big zip?
The floppy image from the zip file you posted at the beginning of the therad. "198adDisk ImageFinal.img".
Is there a better one to use from a Gotek on flp1_?
Edit: Got it working by booting in monitor mode like Chris ...

Re: Video: Sinclair QL Upgrades (PSU and vDrive mostly)
Oh wow, that's great. I'll have to check it out. What kind of speaker are you using for something like this?

Re: 198? - A cyberpunk ACT text adventure Release thread & Download!
Hi,
I just got the Gotek working on the QL so I went to try this game with the image file it came with and... I get an "out of range" error. Any idea what it might be? Is it because it's not supposed to run from the flp1_ device? I have a 512K RAM expansion and Minerva.
Thanks!

Video: Sinclair QL Upgrades (PSU and vDrive mostly)
Hey everybody,
I just released a new video starting to cover upgrades for Sinclair QL. In this one I focus mostly on the PSU replacement and vDrive by vRetro. There's probably not much new to you guys, but maybe it's interesting for some of those still thinking of getting a vDrive (spoiler, I ...

Re: Best way to transfer ZIPped software to a Gotek
Ah, that makes sense. I did read through the registered version features, but must have missed that when I saw you could mount disks.
Anyway, I just got qltools to compile, so that's even better since that way I don't have to deal with going through a GUI app. I'm looking forward to finally trying ...

Re: Best way to transfer ZIPped software to a Gotek
I don’t know if mine is the best way, however I find convenient to utilize Qemulator: it can read the .zip archives and copy the files directly into a floppy disk image.
You know, I tried that, but I couldn't even get Q-Emulator to load an .img file. Is it in the Microdrive menu? I see the options ...

Best way to transfer ZIPped software to a Gotek
I got a Gotek working with the Kempston floppy disk interface, but I'm having a hard time finding much software in floppy disk image format (img).
The majority seems to be zipped files that would go directly in the QL. What's the best way to pack those in a floppy disk image to use it from a Gotek ...
