Re: Odd Hardware Items
Sorry, for the bad grammatical errors in my last message. I should not enter messages on mmy mobile phone. A case of big fingers and little screen keyboard.
No worries. I've given up trying to thumb things into my phone :-/
But I intended to say, I had a HP 14" Laptop, that I have a VGA to ...

Hi Derek,
The Q68 found be put I yo this sort thing just need a VGA to TFT Screen adapter.
I was going to this in a an old HP laptop, but thought there would be much demand for this type of thing...

Re: My current QL accelerator project
One could use a kernel with realtime patch and dedicate one CPU core solely for that purpose. Shouldn't be too hard.
That was exactly my thoughts, uD is rather slow compared to the bigger pis.
I would love to see someone create an interface where you could hook up a ZX microdrive to a PC and ...

Re: Odd Hardware Items
I just came across this FPGA project laptop. For only $200 you have a nice laptop platform, now all you need is the skill to program an FPGA. But a QL laptop would be pretty nice.

Re: My current QL accelerator project
It would probably not too hard to make microdrive work on a Pi connected to GPIO port. If someone was particularly driven!
That's actually a question I posed to Charlie and he said it would not be that simple. I was curious if we could create an interface between a microdrive and a PC so one ...

...for me what makes the QL PiStorm a better option is that it is going to give my actual QL hardware, that has a lot of sentimental value, a new lease of life...
I also think there is a slight difference between the emulation in a PiStorm and a software emulator written for Windows or Linux ...

Re: Bare microdrive units.
Kind of the same idea but a different approach. I like the feel of original microcartridges. Yours sounds more practical since you just have to integrate an existing SD card interface and make it accessible to the pin header. I certainly like the idea of a microcartridge case that then accepts SD ...

Re: Bare microdrive units.
I don't have any but I'm curious about the "next level" project. I had a project that's a little beyond my comfort zone, though I still want to give it a go. Basically I wanted to mount a tape head onto a cartridge and see if I could digitally emulate the digital tape and eventually see if it all ...
