Now you're making me curious. What does PE_BGON do additionally compared to e.g. PIE_ON. That wasn't my intention. What I meant was that the frame buffers that ptr_gen uses via PE_BGON/OFF have nothing to do directly with SMSQ/E; the pointer I/F handles that alone.
And PIE/PEX/PICE hook into the ...

Re: sQLux v1.0 (The Xmas Turkey)
Please do not confuse this, continuing to write in buried windows is only a matter of the pointer interface.ql_freak wrote: Fri Mar 14, 2025 7:16 pmIn fact there were Tools for Minerva which allowed output to background windows long before SMS supported it.

Re: sQLux v1.0 (The Xmas Turkey)
Thanks. I have tested it now myself. With Ptr_gen 2.01 the cursor comes up if you move the mouse (EVEN IN NONE-POINTER PROGRAMS), with higher versions (I have tested 2.05 and 2.02) NOT. That's consistent with my experience. According to Update_txt, PG_BGON/OFF doesn't work under QDOS (according to ...

Re: QLCommander v 2.2.7- For Testers!
Reading the syntax for WMOV, it can take both with and without the channel # symbol, but interprets the channel parameter differently, viz, with a #, the parameter is taken as a Basic channel, whereas without, as a 'raw' QDOS channel-ID.
Whilst you'd want to add the # anyway, not sure whether it ...

Re: sQLux v1.1.1 (Deutshland Edition)
There is a chance, but what does it do on QDOS? (none of my QLs have a mouse with a scroll wheel).
Well, the scroll wheel doesn't really have anything to do with QDOS or SMSQ/E, but I find it very useful in QPC. You quickly get used to it when scrolling.
it emulates up and down cursor ...

BTW: Any chance to get the scroll wheel running some day under Windows?

Re: sQLux v1.1.1 (Deutshland Edition)
It would be helpful, if we know, what OS is running. Windows, Linux or Mac. Theoretically, it should have the same incorrect assignment for the keypad buttons. Under Windows, mind you.

Re: sQLux v1.1.1 (Deutschland Edition)
Typically, a pointer appears when ptr_gen is loaded and you move the mouse. If you're in Basic, this is the "K" pointer.
In sQLux, however, nothing happens with ptr_gen 2.06. However, it works with 2.01.
