Re: QL Vision monitor has a blank screen.
I've taken it in for repair, but they said they don't do crts really now, but there was one they did last week waiting to be collected. I'm hopeful. I don't want to scrap it.

Re: QL Vision monitor has a blank screen.
Ok
Good call for the diagram! I'll print it off.
I use Amp Electrical in Nottingham (UK).
They help keep my late 1960's French Hi-fi in tip top shape. He's proper old school. He also does Tvs, but I think he should be able to do something. I'll give him a call tomorrow unless anyone can say if ...

QL Vision monitor has a blank screen.
Hi there,
As a QL joblot I have a Vision Monitor. It switches on and off, the amber led light works, The screen crackles and has static, but has no picture at all. It just stays black, nothing.
I'm aware that there are high voltages under the hood!
There's a small thing inside I can hear rattling ...

Re: Mono Out Jack
Maybe start with a high resistance on the pot and then turn it down? Therefore less chance of damage?

Re: Voltage Regulator update?
Got it. Pin out is OK. I've done it for species and zx81.
And I will only do the one bolted onto the heatsink and labelled 7805.
Cheers

Re: Voltage Regulator update?
OK Thanks, I have ordered some.
From what I remember seeing, isn't it just a case of unplugging one and replugging in the replacement?

Re: Mono Out Jack
Thanks
The parts are on order!
Any ideas where I can fit the socket nicely? I'd rather not drill into the Ql, but I did for my +3e stereo Spectrum and I was happy.

Voltage Regulator update?
Can I change the voltage regulator for a Traco one like the Spectrum?
I have seen old adverts in QL world for a switching device in 1988 that I guess is the Traco? Called a Q-Power in QL World.
If I can, is it the same part as the Spectrum one?

Re: Scart to HDMI upscaler
No, unfortunately I still lose a couple of digits. I have 2 different Rgb cables and both have the same problem.
