Based on la version A07 I have create this:

As the manual for QL is not available, I'm also documenting all the things that I found different to other systems, perhaps this can help to found the differences between A07 and others.

Re: Quill from Gilsoft

All,
I now have this running thanks to an FLP image I was sent - it seems that everyone was correct and it just needed the 30 byte header stripping off - I assumed it was missing and hence the confusion.

I got the "changelog" of it... just I am sorry I cannot recall from where. ASAP I recall it ...

Re: Quill from Gilsoft

Rich - it was your A07 MDV image that I tried under uQLx that just hangs whereas my A03 version does not. As I said I did extract the ZIP inside of the emulator from the win2_ device to a clean mdv_ device so assuming the header was present it should have worked as the file headers would have been ...

Re: Quill from Gilsoft

The A07 locks at this screen which in the boot loader is at line 290 and does EXEC_W mdv1_quillA07

As there are no pics of it running here is the A03 screen that should come up after the loading screen:

Re: Quill from Gilsoft

Derek,

I have the A03 source code (written in 68K ASM I think with the Metacomco assembler but, my memory may have failed me on that) which I have since recovered from anther floppy so no real need to disassemble that version of the Quill.

I have had no luck getting the A07 version that Richard ...

Re: Quill from Gilsoft

Thanks all for the effort you are putting into searching for this - I did try to find a later version than A03 some years back (wow was it 2017!!!) - as I have a floppy version of that:

But, things got in the way and nothing ...

Re: Possible QL Is 40 event, UK

Still lurking here... Watching this thread - depending on where and date I would be interested - I wonder if we could persuade Phoebus to show off the Beta QL core for the Spectrum Next?

I will be at CCH in Cambridge this weekend for the Portable festival but, I am sure those going to Germany will ...

Re: Future QL Zoom Meetings

I have never used Zoom (I have used just about every other VC system on the planet I think :) - shame I missed the last one, serves me right for not checking the forum often enough. If one does go ahead on the 27th I would like to join as well - would be nice to virtually meet some forum members.
