QL For sale

Hi guys

I am selling my QL, long story short, I have now over 40 retro machines from BBC, Commodore, Sinclair, Sharp, Atari, Dragon, which is just wayyyyy to much

Hi Norm

I just bought one of those and the difference is AMAZING !!!!

The one I had was a massive Draper one (Think it was for automotive)

I repaired a faulty power supply tonight and couldn't believe how much easier it was with this soldering iron !!!

For use on retro computers, only use 60/40 22SWG 0.7mm solder with internal flux. Lead free solder will not work properly on components or circuit boards made using lead based solder.

When soldering, if you take longer than 2 to 3 seconds on a normal size solder pad, you are doing something wrong ...

The Microdrive, was REALLY impressed by how simple these are to use, back "in the day" you usually had to type in a command to load a tape, but just pop one of these in and away it goes :)

And can't believe how *QUICK* those little ...

Just out of Curosity I cleaned contacts on old QL membrane ....still not working so removed old membrane ...."looked" in great order...just goes to show eh, the old one is here :

I think I will invest in a new Quality Iron and practice on some old PC motherboards I have, not sure about the "It's the flux fumes that are supposedly harmful" bit lol oO, I guess I will have to hold my breath and consume copious amounts of beer to counter any ...

Well the QL can do all kinds, I do a lot of gaming on mine and general tinkering about :D

Hi Mate, yes play games :) that sounds good !

I think the reasons I am interested in a Ql are

1) I never owned one but remember them "back in the day" and am curious
2) Micromen :D not sure how ...
