Ah, so I don't need to modify the QL, only to plug it to a expansion port, correct?

I've been looking that Jose Leandro (from Spain) has developed a QubIDE clone, I'll try to find out more about this

I am very 'conservative' with old computers as I like to respect as much as possible the devices in the same way as they were designed. And the QL was designed to be working with microdrives ;-) It's the essence of that computer.

Anyway I'd like to understand what a 'QubIDE clone' is. Is it the ...
